SUMMARY Layout, cut fits, and welds pipe, and structural materials used in fabrication of components to assemble structural forms such as piping/instrumentation, vacuum jacketed piping, spool piping, manifolds etc. by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Must train and pass ASME process for Tig 6G level. Must weld to x-ray quality at all time and required to pass x-ray and dye penetrant check of welds. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, GTAW-ARC (TIG) welding, TIG welding of piping from 3/8' tubing to 2' pipe Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. Layout, cuts, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Fabricate from sketches, blue prints or instruction. Examines weld for bead size and other visual specifications to be within tolerances specified. Repairs/reworks products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Must identify material and marking to ensure proper pieces part and identification codes are present. Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines. Assembles completed spool pieces into final assemblies per drawings and spec sheets. Use of Jigs and fixtures. Use of hand tools, grinders, measuring devices, and overhead crane to perform work. Other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. -Individual must have the ability to weld and pass weld certification in a 6G position, 3/8' tubing to 2' pipe. -Must be able to read blue prints and interpret sub-assembly drawings. - Strong math skills required with understanding of measuring devices. - Understand and work with welding codes, techniques and instructions EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma, GED, or technical school; three - five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
