Primary ResponsibilitiesHDR is seeking to hire a NY/NJ Movable Bridge Practice Leader. The primary responsibility of the NY/NJ Movable Bridge Practice Leader are to provide technical and client leadership relative to Movable bridges and other heavy movable structures, and to serve as mentor/advisor to more junior level staff on design and construction projects.More specific duties include but are not limited to planning, directing and monitoring technical aspects of larger and mid-sized heavy movable structures design projects which contain a high degree of technical complexity. This person will also be involved with client relationships with specific focus on relaying HDR's Movable Bridges and Heavy movable structures credentials. Specific involvement including marketing, contractual, design and production meetings; will conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project or clients sites in conjunction with other Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines; may be involved with coordinating staffing and workload of staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule. Primary Responsibilities In the role of NY/NJ Movable Bridge Practice Lead, we'll count on you to:Leading the development and enhancement of client-valued, market driven technology approaches to enable, sustain and grow market share and shareholder value.Develop long term strategic plan in their respective practice areaSupport project delivery by reviewing Senior QA/QC involvement on key projects to ensure engagement and successful project deliveryWorking in partnership with Local and national Movable Bridge Program Leaders and regional marketing, business development, sales, project delivery teams, and across service teams and other business groups as appropriate, to develop and deliver winning solutions to meet client needs. Assist as needed in strategic pursuits in the region.Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on strategic projects Working with the Talent Manager, Operations Leaders and HR function to attract, develop, and retain the best and brightest.Knowledge management to capture and promote best practice and innovation.Perform other duties as neededBachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required. PE is required10 years management experience, including project management and staff management.Experience on significant movable bridge projects is required.Strong communication and listening skillsAbility to handle multiple assignmentsGood leadership and organizational skillsTechnical experience in the area of movable bridge design and rehabilitationDemonstrated understanding of multi-disciplinary movable bridge work (structural, mechanical, and electrical)Familiarity with AASHTO or AREMA movable bridge specificationsExperience delivering quality movable bridge work for NY/NJ area clientsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned and client-focused culture is a must Preferred Qualifications Design-build experienceExperience delivering quality movable bridge work for clients throughout the Northeast United StatesCandidates who reside locally in the NY/NJ metro area are preferred.
