Job Duties: Supervises visitation between children and families in the agency, neutral, and family Provides support to social services staff by providing necessary social services in the office or home setting. Transports children placed out of county to mandated visitation. Establishes, organizes and maintains updated narrative of the delivery to the clients. Transports/escorts children and families to medical appointments, shopping, visitation, etc. Locates or acquires housing, clothing, furniture, food, bedding and appliances within the community. Page 2 FT Social Services Worker I JFS Job Duties (Con't): Instructs clients in life skills i.e.; housekeeping, budgeting, hygiene and parenting instruction to children and families. Converses with clients and general public on the phone and in person making referrals to other agencies, providing information and scheduling appointments. Writes or types reports, complete SACWIS data entry, case records, social summaries in order to document services Attends training classes, confers with supervisor and social workers, attends meetings, conferences, staff meetings, testifies at court as needed; any other duties as assigned. Completes initial determination and is responsible for ongoing redetermination requirements for the Kinship Permanency Incentive Program through processing applications, completing safety audits, and maintaining an accurate case record. Establishes the weekly visitation calendar and ensures that all required visits are scheduled each week. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Oualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Post high school education desired. Must have a valid Ohio Driver's license and operable vehicle. Develop and maintain positive relationship to all clients Proficient in typing, word and data processing. Ability to follow directions to detail. Cooperates with co-workers and other agency staff. Proficient in English grammar and composition. Good oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of community resources. Ability to react in emergency situations. Interviewing skills to determine clients' needs. Ability to follow established policy and procedures. Ability to work evenings and possible weekends. Physical Requirements: Alternate frequently between sitting/standing/walking throughout an eight (8) hour workday. Lift/carry a minimum of eight (8) pounds. Push/pull with twenty (20) pounds of initial force. Climb onto stepladder (2 steps). Bend/squat/crouch/kneel. Preferred Oualifications: Erie County residency preferred.
