Job Responsibilities Creare is looking for an exceptional engineer with a materials science background and research experience in areas such as, but not limited to, custom lab hardware development, nanomaterials, carbon materials, high vacuum technology, laboratory measurement instrumentation, metals processing, physics, chemistry, and cryogenics. The ideal candidate will have the passion, creativity, and skills to pursue varied technical research in a multi-disciplinary environment. The successful candidate will apply expertise in materials science and related engineering fields to help conceive of, develop, and test new technologies and hardware prototypes that meet client needs. Projects typically begin with concept development and proceed through analysis, mechanical design, fabrication, and testing leading to development of prototypes, materials, commercial products, and deployed systems. As a Materials Engineer, the focus will be on materials development and characterization, lab hardware development, instrumentation, experimentation, and analysis to develop and demonstrate new materials, devices, and technical capabilities. Typical activities include literature research; performance analysis; and design, assembly, programming, and operation of custom hardware for experimentation and development of materials processes and product prototypes. Familiarity with common materials properties, data acquisition software (e.g., Python, LabView), laboratory electronics and instrumentation, high vacuum systems, cryogenics, and materials characterization methods is ideal, as is understanding of microstructural properties of high-performance metals, composites, and polymers. Key Elements of the Position Variety of Projects. Work on several RandD projects at a time. Example current/past project technology areas: electrostatic precipitation, novel metals casting methods, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), thin film deposition, nanomaterials, chemical/biological protection equipment, specialty coatings (thin-film, hydrophilic, wear resistant, etc.), composites, and cryogenic systems and devices. Use your knowledge of materials science, physics, chemistry, metallurgy, mechanics, heat transfer, and mechanical design to develop fabrication processes and design, build, and test experimental hardware, working prototypes, and specialized products. Additionally, NH has no State sales or income tax Professional Requirements Ph.D. with exceptional academic achievement and/or Masters with the same plus 5 or more years of relevant industrial experience. Engineering degree fields include: Materials Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Physics, and Nuclear. Base annual salary range of $100,000 - $160,000 based on level of education completed, and years of relevant experience.
