Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Research Chemist to join our Applied Sciences team. As an Analytical Research Chemist, you will be responsible for conducting scientific research and analysis to support the development and improvement of our products and processes. The research Chemist will be able to interpret and communicate results to other researchers and multidisciplinary project teams to provide valuable insights to drive innovation and product quality. Responsibilities: Independently design and execute experiments to analyze and characterize the chemical and physical properties of various substances, compounds, and materials. Develop and validate analytical methods and techniques to ensure accurate and precise measurements, utilizing a range of instrumentation and equipment such as HPLC, HPLC/MS, GC, GC/MS, spectroscopy, and classical techniques. Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and unknowns, following established protocols and standard operating procedures. Partner with CROs/CMOs to generate data and methods to support Strategic Business Units. Collect, interpret, and analyze data from experiments, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, engineers, and quality control personnel, to provide analytical support and contribute to product development and improvement initiatives. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to analytical methods, instrumentation, and data interpretation, proposing effective solutions and process improvements. Develop and validate QC test methodology for manufacturing plants and copackers, develop and execute method transfer protocols. Maintain accurate and organized records of experiments, procedures, and results, preparing technical reports, summaries, and presentations as required. Qualifications: A degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific field with the following years of experience is required. Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of industrial lab experience. Master's degree with 3-6 years of industrial lab experience. Ph.D. degree with 0-2 years of industrial lab experience. Proven experience in analytical chemistry research, preferably in an industrial setting. Strong knowledge and understanding of analytical techniques, instrumentation, and methods such as HPLC, LC/MS, IC, NIR spectroscopy, GC, GC/MS, FTIR, and classical techniques. Experience working in a Medical Device, or OTC research lab is preferred. Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and quality control practices in the CPG industry. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex scientific concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
