Below is a list of primary and auxiliary Fabrication Foreman responsibilities: Attend work on the schedule established by the employer and without excessive absenteeism. Follow all safe work practices established by the employer. Supervise and coordinate activities of welders and other fabrication personnel. Direct and lead workers engaged in fabrication projects. Assign work daily to employees. Confer with additional Shop Foreman's and workers to ensure fabrication and personnel problems are resolved. Suggest and initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, raises and bonuses. Examines and inspects work progress, various pieces of equipment and the Evansville Shop facility to verify safety and ensure specifications are met. Reads specifications, such as blueprints and plans, and drawings to determine fabrication requirements. Provides fabrications quotes to TBI and Joint Venture job sites as well as external customers. Fabrication quotes are to detail out estimated material pricing from suppliers as well as the man hour estimate. Inspect fabrication work to verify that is conforming to specification and drawing requirements. Review time cards and costing reports for accuracy Intermittent travel is required but not limited to job sites, organization meetings, training, trade shows, and/or company meetings. Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Knowledge/ Skills Required: Foreman must be self-driven and have an understanding of fabrication methods, materials, and tools involved to complete a full build cycle. Below is a list of skills and knowledge that the fabrication foreman must possess: Knowledge of business and management principles, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods and tools involving with the manufacturing industry. Knowledge of relevant equipment and safety policies and procedures to comply with company policy, local, state and federal laws. Ability to understand technical plans and drawing. Ability to add, subtract, and divide quickly and correctly. Ability to motive and direct people as they work. Ability to determine resources needed for accurately quoting work. Ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Asses the performance of ones' self and subordinates to make improvements and take corrective action. Ability to communicate information in speaking and writing so other can understand. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems. Ability to use Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel effectively. Required Skills Physical Demands: Constant standing, walking on rough or uneven surfaces. Occasional climbing of ladders, platforms, scaffolding Frequent work in dusty environment Frequent work in area of excessive noise. Work available hours including overtime hours as needed. Occasional travel to TBI Equipment yards or TBI job site to perform miscellaneous tasks.
