Job Summary: The Family Engagement Supervisor will be responsible for shaping, building, and sustaining the vision of the Family Engagement team at WSM. The Family Engagement Supervisor will lead and train a team of Family Engagement Coaches in mentoring, modeling, and coaching families, parents, and children as they progress towards sustainable restoration. The Family Engagement Supervisor will also provide direct services to families, parents, and children around issues of parenting and family engagement. The Family Engagement Supervisor will work cooperatively with a team of Supervisors, Directors and other WSM staff, actively participating in a safe and healing environment and upholding the mission, vision, purpose, and core values of WSM. The Family Engagement Supervisor is a key leader within the Residential Life department. Walk alongside fellow WSM staff in Christian community as we journey toward maturity. Encourage restoration in the lives of coworkers and guests, recognizing we are each restored by God to become restorers. Work in full coordination with other WSM staff at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of guests. Above all, hold a love for Jesus and a recognition that ministry takes precedence over tasks. Role Specific Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and oversee Family Engagement for families and children staying at WSM (age birth-13 years for boys; birth-18 years for girls). This includes but is not limited to assisting with new family intakes, orienting guests to the Family Engagement team and room, working with children and families in the Family Engagement room, meeting with guests for individual and family coaching sessions (Parents as Partners), and participating in Multidisciplinary Team meetings. Monitor and manage daily operations and maintenance of Family Engagement areas. Represent the Family Engagement perspective in Multidisciplinary Team meetings in planning next steps for parents and children. Work in full coordination with staff to identify guest needs and link guests to internal WSM resources. Take an active role in action plans of all Residential guests who desire parenting support. Lead the development and implementation of individualized action plans for each child. Lead the development and implementation of parent and child assessments, assessing areas of strength and needed growth. Provide training, growth, and connection opportunities for all guests who are parents, even those without children currently under their care. Participate in special programs, events, and educational/training opportunities as requested or needed. Oversee the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the Family Engagement room. Maintain accurate guest information, including reporting and data management. Remain knowledgeable of current best practices for child and family development. Attend all required meetings and trainings, such as Multidisciplinary Team, Life Coach Team meeting, Life Coach Supervisor meeting, Family Engagement Team meeting, all-staff meetings, off-site trainings, and others. Provide education and skills training to the larger Life Coach team around parent/child best practices. Know and uphold all current policies and procedures, contributing to revisions and new policies as needed. Assist the Director of Life Coach Ministry with scheduling, visioning, and resource planning. Assist the Director of Life Coach Ministry with vetting, interviewing, and training new Family Engagement coaches. Participate in the vision and development of WSM as a whole. Perform all other duties as assigned. Supervision: Supervise, model, and train Children's Ministry Coaches how to engage children and parents according to each individual's unique needs and background. Build and promote team morale. Manage staff schedules, timecards, and coverage in applicable areas. Develop staff towards personal and professional growth goals. Lead regular team check-in meetings for Family Engagement coaches. Track emails and Salesforce to pass relevant information to the next shift. Train, schedule, and supervise Family Engagement volunteers to serve families and children, consistent with WSM's model and policies. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree strongly preferred) in early childhood/elementary/special education, human services, social work with children and families, child/family development, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years' work experience with children and families, particularly with marginalized or vulnerable populations. Minimum of 1-3 years' supervisory experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required. Ability to work with a database (ex: Salesforce) is essential. Bilingual English-Spanish strongly preferred. Reports To: Director of Life Coach Ministry Key Internal Relationships: Director of Life Coach Ministry, Residential Life Directors/VPs, Community Resources Directors/VPs, Life Coach Supervisors, Family Engagement Coaches, all Life Coaches. Physical Demands: Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100% The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This may necessitate carrying children and/or assisting children and parents down multiple flights of stairs in a rapid manner.
