SUMMARYTo efficiently utilize the proper casting finishing practices and techniques which satisfy the customer and/or subsequent process operations. Involves grinding castings of advanced complexity. Additionally, employee's behaviors must align with Ligon's Business Ethics Policy, and strive to attain our Perfect Day Philosophy.PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIESStraightening castings and finish grinding casting to customer specifications.Sort castings into batches to be sequenced through the department.Work as part of a team towards producing Quality parts to production standards.Maintain tools and equipment in proper safe working condition.Perform minor maintenance on grinders - cleaning, replacing discs, belts, etc.Learn to use various hand tools.Learn to read technical documents.Learn to use various measuring instruments.Work to posted standards and instructions.Straighten, gauge and patch when necessary to meet spect parts to posted instructions.Learn gross casting defects and be able to identify them, informing the lead person or supervisor immediately.Follow all health and safety rules.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTHigh school diploma or equivalentREQUIRED SKILLSAbility to work and communicate with othersAbility to follow instructionsLegible handwritingRequires a normal degree of dexterityUse of 1' micrometer, 12' caliper and 18' steel scaleKeep a neat and clean work area.PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENTPhysical DemandsThis position requires constant standing for 8 - 12 hours, lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. constantly Working ConditionsThe employee will be exposed to an environment where hearing, eye safety, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Minimum Salary: 18 Maximum Salary: 19.26 Salary Unit: Hourly
