Job Title: Community Relation Liaison Reports to: Community Liaison - Supervisor Location: Bronx, NY Job Classification: (Full-time) FLSA: Non-exempt Salary: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour Brief Job description: To develop, coordinate, supervise, and manage Daybreak's voluntary work sites and community activities. Qualifications: Experience with I/DD population Must be passionate about working with Individuals Must be willing to adhere to safe health and safety standards Must build community amongst Individuals and staff. Must have a positive attitude. Summary of Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position: Responsible for planning and supervising all community activities, including recreational and job sites, following the DBIS policies and compliance/Ethics guidelines. Provide supervision and training to direct support professional staff. Develop specific volunteer/ job opportunities that match the individual's skills, experience, and training interests. Research new ideas for programs and activities, taking into consideration participants' suggestions Serve as a liaison with existing volunteer sites while establishing new relationships with community leaders and organizations. Initiating and planning the monthly calendar with the Program Coordinator and communicating effectively with the Director to initiate daily programs and activities. Conduct individual volunteer evaluation by observing and documenting the individual's ability to engage in required activities on site. Provide vocational instructions to individuals as needed. Ensure individual safety by familiarizing individuals with safety rules and regulations at volunteer and community sites. Maintain systematic communication with volunteer and recreational site supervisors to review productivity, quality of work, and activities. Establish and maintain open, positive lines of communication with the site manager, individuals, and staff. Participate in feedback in semi-annual and annual plan review meetings, life plan review meetings, and other meetings as required. Participate in OPWDD and provider association training when required Any other duties as requested by the program director to ensure the safety and well-being of the I/DD individuals served by Daybreak. The position requires performing DSP duties in case of acute staff shortages or emergencies as requested by the program director to ensure the safety and well-being of Daybreak's individuals.
