Job Description The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) provides for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of people and goods in the City of New York and maintains and enhances the transportation infrastructure crucial to the economic vitality and quality of life of City residents. The mission of Fleet Services is to assure the safe working condition of the department's motorized vehicles and equipment; ensuring the operational readiness of the vehicle and mobile equipment fleet; instituting compliance programs supporting fleet preventive maintenance, state-mandated inspections, vehicular emissions testing and schedules. Under the direction of the Agency Transportation Coordinator (ATC) the Community Coordinator will assist the ATC in several key programs, including: Vehicle and Equipment Rental Program; EZ Pass Program; and Collision Management. Key responsibilities will include but not limited to: Reviewing and approving Driving Authorization forms Managing commuter lists Verifying completion of defensive driving training Liaising with various DOT units, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Addressing 311 complaints related to DOT vehicles Handling litigation information requests concerning vehicular collisions Qualifications Graduation from an accredited community college with an associate's degree with a major in executive secretarial work and one year of experience as a secretary; or Graduation from an accredited college with a baccalaureate degree and one year of experience as a secretary; or A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
