This role involves updating information from each placement site on an ongoing basis and managing records associated with practicum. The person in this role interacts with students regarding their practicum choices and hours-tracking software, with sites regarding their practicum or internship training, and with the faculty who teach practicum classes. This person may organize and manage an annual practicum fair or other events involving practicum and supports students in their preparation for practicum by assisting them with CV/resume preparation and interviewing tips. In addition, this person provides an ongoing analysis of the workflow for placements and the use of technological tools to enhance processes and ensure best practices. The person in this role works closely with the Director of MA Programs and the Director of Training for the doctoral program. This role also plays a part in the recruitment and retention of students. For recruitment, this individual participates in information sessions, outreach events, and follow-up with prospects, working closely with the Morrison Family College of Health (MFCOH) recruitment team and the GSPP (Graduate School of Professional Psychology) Program Manager (PM) and Program Coordinator (PC). This individual contributes to the admissions process, assisting both the PM and PC and the Director of MA programs and Director of Training with admissions-related tasks. This person will contribute to orientation and “opening” events that are associated with each admission cycle throughout the academic year to help facilitate connection among the students and will interact with the Student Success Director and others in the MFCOH about college-wide events. The person in this role will explore ways of connecting with students and facilitating connection among them that may involve structures such as “drop-in” hours, and use of social media as examples.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMA Practicum Tasks: Interact with each practicum site for updated information and requirements, explore and develop relationships with new sites, manage all records associated with MA practicum, including exploration of enhancing efficiency with automation tools, manage surveys of student experiences with sites including reporting of results, manage the evaluation process with site supervisors and practicum course faculty, verify vaccination and background checks for those that need them and stay current on requirements in coordination with compliance requirements within the MFCOH.Student Support - Practicum & Internship: Maintain the practicum and internship SharePoint sites for each program, organize the annual practicum fair for students, meet with some of the MA students (typically a total of 60-80 students annually) to discuss career goals in relation to site characteristics, and discuss the practicum selection process, participate with the program directors in practicum orientation sessions, conduct resume writing and interviewing workshops for students applying for practicum and internship. Engages with the Director of Student Success of the MFCOH to coordinate support efforts across the college for students, as needed. Monitor and attend to MOU’s and other contracts, in collaboration with the Finance and Compliance Specialist for the MFCOH, represent the GSPP’s MA and PsyD programs on the College’s Internships and Placements Committee, examine, in collaboration with ITS, cloud-based and other platforms for managing practicum learning and evaluation processes.Psy.D. Practicum & Internship Tasks: Interact with each practicum site for annual information updates.Recruitment & Admissions: Upon learning the details of programs, handle inquiries from prospects, help coordinate and participate in information sessions with directors and with current students.Student Engagement - orientation, opening, graduation: Work with program directors and leaders of student organizations to manage these three important school-wide events along with any college-wide events that occur, work with the Director of Student Success and others in the MFCOH regarding culturally-sensitive student engagement.Minimum QualificationsMA/MS/Ph.D./Psy.D. in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, marriage and family psychology/therapy, clinical mental health counseling, career counseling, educational psychology, or school psychologyPreferred QualificationsMental health licensure or eligibility and knowledge of mental health systems of careGraduate student support experienceHOW TO APPLYAll interested candidates must apply online at https://www.stthomas.edu/jobs/.
