Crisis Services is a community-based inpatient department of Abbe Mental Health Center. This program receives and serves individuals who are dealing with a mental health crisis 24 hours a day. The Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for completion of developing and implementing quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy of client services. In addition, the Coordinator will track and trending agency regulatory data, creating reports, coordinating training with front line managers. This person will serve on the internal Medicaid Integrity Team. This position will complete required and regulatory data for local and state requirements provided monthly quarterly and annually. Responsible for collaborating with managers developing training programs on quality intervention and that outcomes are correctly documented to meet internal and external regulatory guidelines. Will be involved in on-boarding process with new employees. Engages in ongoing coaching strategies with direct care staff and coordinates with manager on focused staff development tasks for quality improvement. Supports tasks necessary for quality services for clients on the units with direct care staff and managers. Works closely with Crisis Managers and Director on tasks that improve quality of care needs. Will be a member of the Medicaid Integrity Program with AbbeHealth and UnityPoint Health. Will collaborate and be a member with Quality Assurance Meetings. Completes required local and state reports for data collection and reporting based on regulation and funder expectations. Will complete reports for regulatory requirements.Responsible for efficiency in crisis protocols and utilization of EPIC.Basic UPH Performance CriteriaDemonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, HHS, IAC Chapter 24 Regulations and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum RequirementsIdentify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position.Preferred or SpecializedNot required to perform the essential functions of the position.Education:Bachelor’s degree in health and human service filed. Bachelor’s degree in business or health administration.Experience:Worked in quality assurance/improvement activities and have experience in health or human services. License(s)/Certification(s):Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Writes, reads, comprehends, basic knowledge of computer using work processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browser.Other:Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
