Purchasing is focused on acquiring and stocking inventory in support of our customers and providing high-level service to our teammates in support of the operation. This position will oversee the Purchasing team. Join our group of dedicated professionals and apply today!Oversees and supervises all Purchasing department staff and operationsManages physical inventory counts including reconciliation of reporting metrics to corporate Purchasing/Accounting departmentsMaintains appropriate pharmacy inventory min/max levels, forecasting and purchasing from wholesaler and warehouseMaintains appropriate inventory levels in accordance with out-of-stock tolerances and days-on-hand metricsWorks with any backordered drugs from the wholesaler or warehouse for substitution or procure within another pharmacyResolves any issues related to purchasing from internal and external customersManages and troubleshoots pharmacy perpetual inventory system including cycle countsNotifies the pharmacy management of any “temporary out’ shortages that could result in the potential need to change patient therapyManages vendor relationsOversees non-pharmacy related purchasing for the support of the operationEnsures that customer returns are re-stocked in a timely mannerResponsible for maintenance and QA of pharmacy formularyAssists with implementing new contracts/programs to field locationsResponsible for verification of monthly expiring medication check for all pharmacy inventoryMonitors strategic buy-in programs and initiatives for the pharmacyLogs information in the system and acquires all new drug products needed by pharmacyIdentifies additional cost savings opportunities or problem resolution to reduce cost/expensePerforms other tasks as assigned by ManagerEducation/Learning Experience:High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred Three or more years’ experience in LTC pharmacy; two or more years’ experience in LTC purchasing preferredAdvanced understanding of pharmacy procurement and inventoryProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsStrong workflow and performance management skills as well as scheduling skillsLicenses/Certifications:As required by state regulations and business needsPharMerica is a full-service pharmacy solution providing value beyond medication.
