Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the non-profit industry in MAYWOOD, Illinois. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be taking on a vital role in managing our financial records, offering analytical insights, and contributing to the financial success of our organization. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Manage the general ledger, post journal entries, and reconcile accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the financial data. Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all necessary adjustments are made. Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts, and monitor budget performance. Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide meaningful insights to management. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. Heavy Bank Reconciliation Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff and foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy Requirements Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or related field Proficiency in Month End Close, Month-end Financial, and Month-end Journal Entries is mandatory Familiarity with Month-end Reports, Monthly Account Reconciliation, and Monthly Accruals is required Experience with General Ledger and Account Reconciliation is a must Knowledge of Reconstructive Surgery procedures and protocols is highly desirable Skills in Ledger Account Reconciliation are essential Candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are required A commitment to ethical conduct and adherence to company policies is mandatory Ability to work independently and also collaborate effectively with a team is necessary Must have a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Proficiency in using accounting software and other related computer applications is required.
