Job ID: 676596BR Date posted: Sep. 17, 2024 Description:Layout and construct a variety of semi-complex jigs, dollies, form blocks, stands, etc., using drawings, sketches or samples.Use a variety of tool room machinery in the fabrication of various jigs, form blocks, etc., including such machinery and equipment as the band-saw, router, filer, drum sander, etc.Use a variety of different size and shape templates for coordination, as required, uncertain job layouts.With assistance when necessary perform a variety of machine shop operations which involve the use of such machines as the miller, lathe, etc.Work independently on standard jobs and assist more skilled jig builders on more complex work.Perform all necessary operations in the rework, repair and maintenance of various semi-complex jigs, dollies, stands, etc.Refer any unusual difficulties or problems to the foreman or the higher skilled jig builder.Perform operator checklist as required.Contribute to the overall effectiveness of equipment by performing operator required upkeep.Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.Segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.Basic Qualifications:Requires well-rounded knowledge of tool room practices and ability to use shop mathematics, handbook formulas and a variety of precision measuring instruments such as height gage, vernier calipers, micrometers, etc. Work from drawings and sketches.
