The Controls Engineer I designs control systems for industrial material handling solutions. Includes development of specifications, device layout drawings, control schematics, PLC logic, and solutions that deliver exceptional customer value. May work with support of more senior engineers. Works closely with the overall project team to design systems meeting the project requirements. Uses creativity and innovation to tailor the standard product offering to meet customer needs.Based on customer specifications and scope documentation, designs system layouts, schematics, and control devices, usually for small projects and retrofits; supports design of projects of all sizesPerforms diverse, specialized and complex work involving significant accountability and decision-makingCreates control sequence of operation documents to ensure that the design meets customer expectationsPrepares schematics and specifications for control panel fabricationMaintains a progress schedule that meets project milestonesProvides documentation and support to the field wiring teamCreates Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programsWorks closely with the Software Engineering team to integrate control solutionsPerforms on-site commissioning to implement and validate the system designFollows engineering standardsTravels up to 50%Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience -Associate Degree in Engineering Discpline candidates encouraged to apply!Experience, such as an internship, with the material handling industryExperience with various industrial HMI and SCADA systemsExperience with Allen-Bradley controls/controllers or Schneider PLCs a plusKnowledge of industrial automation systems, including HMI and SCADAKnowledge of controls/controllers and PLCs a plusProficient with AutoCAD or AutoCAD ElectricalAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam-oriented and collaborativeCreative-thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to learn new technologiesSelf-motivatedAbility to work non-traditional hoursEOE Minorities/Women/Disabled/VeteransFederal ContractorIf you need assistance applying to an open position online, please email $60,000.00USD $75,000.00
