Job description JOB DETAILSBase Pay: $21.26 per hourBenefits Start Day 180 Hours Paid Time OffOn Demand Pay - access your pay when you need itDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWe are currently seeking a Quality Technician to help us ensure that non-conforming products do not continue through the production process and are not distributed to customers. In this role, you will conduct routine quality inspections of raw materials and finished goods throughout production, including in-process and final inspections. During these inspections, Quick Problem-Solving, and Root Cause Analysis methods will be performed to support the manufacturing process and ensure delivery of quality material. Drive quality at the source by providing work areas with the quality at the source necessitiesOutline critical to quality process steps and understand capabilities, controls, and necessary equipment and tools to adequately perform job functionsCreate work instructions and visual aids to support linesEmbody a no defect forward cultureSupports supervisor and operations with line callsMaintain quality at the source through general quality controls and inspectionsAudit the quality of in-coming materials, work in progress materials, and finished product in accordance with standardsPerform all required ASTM quality control testing on aggregate and concrete products including, but not limited to, field-testing (slump, air content, unit weight, yield, cylinders, etc.), gradations on production aggregates, and lab work (compression testing and scheduling)Ensure test equipment is calibrated and working correctly and lab area is organizedMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of testing completed with resultsReport quality nonconformances to the supervisor immediatelyParticipate with internal and external team members, vendors, and Regional Quality Manager in resolving quality problems by investigating complaints, collecting necessary data, and solving complaint utilizing established Cornerstone Building Brands Quality Problem-Solving methodologyAnalyze and interpret technical information and effectively present information to sales, project managers, operations, and other employees within the organizationSupport existing product specifications and new product request by documenting customer expectations and trialed product through detailed process steps, mix designs, and recipes Qualifications High school diploma or GED, Associate's degree preferredExperience as an Inspection or quality technicianExperience in manufacturing environments that are fast-pacedBilingual is preferred but not requiredSkills & CompetenciesWorking computer knowledge; including applicable Microsoft softwareUnderstanding of mathematical concepts such as ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsWorking with a sense of urgencyAbility to work alone with minimal supervisionTeamwork - Contributes to building a positive team spiritJudgment - Exhibits sound and accurate judgmentPlanning/Organizing - Uses time efficiently and has advanced organizational skillsProfessionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Accepts responsibility for own actionsSafety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properlyAdaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected eventsAttendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on timeDependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goalsInitiative - Asks for and offers help when neededInnovation - Generates suggestions for improving workOtherThe employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipmentThe employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shouldersThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception Additional information Site Address: 499 W Sassafras St, Selinsgrove, PA 17870Why work for Cornerstone Building Brands?Our teams are at the heart of our purpose to positively contribute to the communities where we live, work and play.
