Reference #: R-157757 The Opportunity: Avantor is looking for a Payroll Supervisor to provide tactical leadership within the payroll team, overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all North American subsidiaries and companies. Your service-oriented approach, coupled with your innovative mindset, will be integral in driving process improvements and enhancing employee experiences. This is a full-time, remote position (preferred availability to work in CST / EST time zone). What we're looking for Education: 2 - 4-year degree preferred or equivalent work experience required. Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of payroll processing experience, showcasing proficiency in managing complex payroll scenarios while upholding data integrity. Profound knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws. Advanced proficiency in Workday payroll software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other HRIS and Timekeeping systems will be helpful. Multistate U.S. and Canada payroll experience. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude. Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities. Effective communication skills, enabling interactions with diverse stakeholders. Ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion. Relevant payroll certifications (e.g., CPP) are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional growth. How you will thrive and create an impact Payroll Processing: Lead and manage end-to-end payroll processing for designated employee groups and companies, ensuring precise calculations of wages, salaries, bonuses, and compensation components. Oversee regular and special payroll runs, maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Data Accuracy: Supervise the maintenance of employee payroll data, including payroll adjustments, calculations, and timekeeping records. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies. Compliance: Stay up to date on federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws. Ensure that payroll processes adhere to legal requirements, encompassing accurate tax withholding, benefit deductions, and statutory contributions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to gather required information for payroll processing and to resolve processing-related issues. Problem Resolution: Lead the investigation and resolution of payroll discrepancies and issues promptly. Provide exemplary customer service to employees by addressing inquiries related to payroll matters. Reporting: Oversee the preparation and distribution of payroll reports to management and other business units. These reports include payroll summaries, tax documentation, and relevant analyses that contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize payroll processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data accuracy. Participate in system upgrades and implementations to ensure seamless payroll integration. Training and Mentorship: Guide the training and mentorship of junior payroll staff members, providing expert guidance on payroll procedures, regulations, and best practices.
