HIRING: Disability Benefits CoordinatorLOCATION: Newburyport, MASCHEDULE: Part-Time (25 hours/week) Flexible SchedulePAY:$28/hr.POSITION SUMMARY:The Disability Benefits Coordinator role will conduct the review/processing of Social Security and SSP determinations, Representative Payee and Social Security Disability Reviews, as well as Section 8 certifications/re-certifications and Leases, Mass Health, ARD Authorized Representative Designee and Mass Health Reviews, and Medicare Benefits to ensure all steps are completed. Maintains confidentiality in all duties.RESPONSIBILITIES:Social Security Income (SSI) SSA SSP / Disability ReviewsReceives and reviews Social Security determinations and/or redeterminations complete process and application for Representative Payee status for Individual. Complete RPR /Representative Payee reports.Section 8 -Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities Program.Receives house renewal and recertifications. Works with area Housing Authority to ensure accuracy.Individual’s Leases (All Programs when necessary for move ins/outs). Maintain and update all Residence leases for Individuals to ensure accuracy.Mass Health Insurances (For our rep payee individuals-help with others)Complete all application process steps to ensure all Individuals are properly covered with active current benefits. Application process of ARD / Authorized Representative Designee to represent and speak to Mass Health regarding benefits. Complete Mass Health Eligibility Reviews and Renewal Application for Health Coverage updates for continuation of coverage. Ensure that all Individuals have current active Mass Health cardsEnsure Medicare benefits and cards are in place and all Individuals who qualify for Medicare have coverageCorrect any and all benefits that are suspendedOther ResponsibilitiesRespond to inquiries. Provides information to staff and individuals outside of the organizationApplies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. Verifies documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agenciesComplies with all organizational policies and proceduresMaintains professionalism in the work environmentPerforms all other duties as assigned by the CFO or COOQUALIFICATIONS:BS/BA in Accounting, Business or related field and/or equivalent experience preferredExperince navigating Mass Health and Social Security Income benefits required.Experience in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing requiredA working knowledge of accounting or related softwareKnowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations is desirableProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel and other general office procedures, as well as Outlook and/or Google emailProven ability to function confidentially in an office environmentOur MissionTurning Point, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is committed to providing exceptional services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
