Biosensor Development Co-Op- Spring 2025

The DEKA biosensor development team is looking for 6+ month Biosensor Development Co-Op with a background in organic/analytical chemistry to help develop state-of-the-art sensors. As a Biosensor Development Co-Op, you will work in a dynamic R&D environment working alongside a group of passionate engineers to create innovative solutions that truly make a difference.DEKA offers Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). This position is for a 6+ month rotation for the Spring semester starting in January 2025.How you will make an impact as a Biosensor Development Co-Op:Design and develop proof of concept prototypes for new sensorsAnalyze, document, and report data in the appropriate documentation systemCreate a portfolio of early phase sensor technologiesEvaluate methodologies to scale sensors from proof of concept to working modelsWhat you need to be successful in this role as a Biosensor Development Co-Op:Pursuing at least a Bachelors or Master's degree in organic or analytical chemistry or similar fieldExperience with (bio)electroanalytical techniques such as voltammetry or impedance spectroscopy is preferredHands-on experience in working in a wet lab and basic design of experimentsExperience performing literature searchesEffectively document and communicate test resultsStrong attention to detailAbility to generate own innovative engineering ideasKnowledge of DNA biophysics/bioinformatics is preferredAbout DEKA:One hour from the beach, Boston, and the mountains, the historic Amoskeag Millyard once housed the largest textile mills in the world.
