LHH is seeking a Manual Master Machinist, you will be responsible for the precise fabrication of parts using manual lathes, mills, and other machine tools. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints, setting up machines, and maintaining tight tolerances to produce high-quality components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manual machining and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities: Set up and operate manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses to produce precision parts. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances. Measure, examine, and test completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Select and install appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures for each machining task. Adjust machine settings to ensure that parts are machined to the required specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve part quality. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and guidelines. Train and mentor junior machinists in manual machining techniques and best practices.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience as a manual machinist, with expertise in operating lathes, mills, and other manual machine tools.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.Strong knowledge of machining operations, tooling, speeds, and feeds.Excellent precision measurement skills, with the ability to maintain tight tolerances.Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to achieve desired results.Experience with various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Good communication skills and a commitment to workplace safety.Preferred Skills:Experience with complex parts and custom machining projects.Knowledge of CNC machinery and programming is a plus.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
