Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.University Radiology is looking for a full-timeBreast Biopsy/Mammo Screening Coordinatorfor ourNeptune, NJ Imaging OfficeMonday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pmThe Breast Biopsy/Mammo coordinator will act as a liaison between the imaging office and the patients to insure accurate communication between parties.Responsibilities:Coordinates breast cancer patient care across all settings with all healthcare providersCollaborates with all care providers to assist in the provision of quality/ patient careCommunicates with patients, their families, physicians and other health care providersTo promote quality care as a patient coordinator, provide expert knowledge and technical information as necessaryMaintains detailed knowledge of protocol requirements and policy changesAssumes a leadership role in the development of standards for patient educationAssumes responsibility for maintaining own competency and continuing education in breast health education.Collaborates with other breast cancer navigators for support and shared knowledgeExplains procedure to patients. Answers all questions and redirects unanswerable questions to appropriate person.Interviews patients, obtaining pertinent history with patient consideration and privacy.Prepares and updates Breast cases as it relates to Tumor BoardSchedule biopsies for Neptune, Freehold, Point Pleasant, Cherry Hill, and Tinton Falls offices.Maintains an accurate log of all studies performed.Monitors and moves patient safely and timely through their biopsy procedures.Making sure the birad 4 and 5 patients are placed on the schedule in a timely fashion. Obtains pertinent clinical history required for radiologist review and approval of biopsy procedures.Acts of a Radiologist/Surgeon liaison,Trains appropriate personnel when needed.Understands and applies skills to locate patient images for proceduresEnsures pathology results are available within 72 hours post procedure or notifies the Radiologist of the delay. Is responsible to notify referring Physician of biopsy results per protocol. Handles all cases from beginning to end on the Medinformatix Screening Orders listVerifies the accuracy of the patient history entered into MagviewCoordinates all patient worksheets for the daily screening session with the radiologistVerifies all prior images are in place for the radiologist, retrieves from Fuji if necessaryCreates the normal/abnormal reports in the Magview dictation system while assisting/supporting the radiologist as he/she batch reads a group of screening mammogram examsCoordinates biopsy pathology: Search/obtain and interpret pathology reports by entering/correlating information into the Pathology tab in MagviewBe familiar with OSHA and HIPAA regulationsPerform other duties as assignedMedical and/or Radiology practice experience is requiredGood phone etiquette and communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to multi taskGood computer skillsFamiliarity with medical terminologyCMA preferredUniversity Radiology offers a comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental and life insurance, 401k/pension, and profit-sharing plans, generous paid time off policy and more.
