Under general direction, the Technologist Assistant assists staff technologist by transporting patients utilizing proper Infection Control and safety practices, scheduling examinations, and other related duties. The Technologist Assistant demonstrates competent knowledge and skills to assure that the assessment of care is appropriate to the age of the patients served: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.Essential Functions:Communicates with nursing unit, upon request for transport, regarding mode of transportation and special instructions in order to provide quality patient care to the neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.Notifies nursing staff charged with patients care of pending transport of patient prior to entering patient’s room.Transports the neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient utilizing proper equipment according to the patient’s needs and medical condition.Confirms patients identity by checking patient’s identification band, as well as verbally confirming identity.Presents all patient paperwork to the reception desk.
