Job ID: 675314BR Date posted: Sep. 12, 2024 Description:Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business area is seeking a Mechanical Inspector Senior to support our Archbald, PA facility. In this role, you will perform various types of mechanical inspections including dimensional, in-process machining and assembly, final inspection, receiving inspection, and routine first pieces on fabricated, subcontracted, and/or purchased part.What You Will Be DoingDuties include but are not limited to: Required to perform mechanical inspection utilizing Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other technical inspection equipment. Be familiar with and capable of learning the use of all measuring instruments, tools, and gages required to perform various mechanical inspection functions. Have a good understanding of shop math and blueprint reading and interpretation including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5. Be familiar with and capable of learning all software associated with the mechanical inspection function and the calibration system including CMM program verification. Maintain inspection equipment and perform scheduled/routine upkeep of CMMs. May be required to create/learn CMM programming to meet blueprint and work instruction requirements. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures. May be required to perform Tool & Gage calibration, train or assist in training new personnel in all types of inspection, participate in off-site training, and maintain communication with outside vendors for specific tasks. Be familiar with AS9102 First Article Process and documenting results. Have a thorough knowledge of the correct procedures to follow and precautions to take when performing their work in order to prevent damage to equipment and/or material and injury to self and/or others. Be able to properly document in a neat and legible manner all types of errors or discrepancies found. May be required to participate during internal and external audits as required. Physical condition allowing:a) Lifting 50 poundsb) Standing, sitting, bending, walking, 10+ hours per dayc) Personal protective equipment including Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and wearing a respirator when required. Must be able to read blueprint, work instructions and interpret engineering drawing requirements Must be able to learn software associated with inspection equipment use, operate various CMMs and generate/validate/run programs. Proficient computing literacy. Proficient knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5. Demonstrated ability to use basic measuring devices such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers. Familiar with AS9102 First Article Process and documenting results. Knowledge of MIL standards Must be able to demonstrate good training skills and effectively apply them to peers. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, with both internal and external customers. Experience working successfully in a team environment. Must be able to support a flexible work schedule supporting overtime, off-Fridays, weekends, and/or alternate shifts to support product schedules as required. Must be able to pass visual acuity and color perception exam. Must be able to obtain a Government Secret security clearance. US Citizen.Desired Skills: Experience working in various fabrication areas and/or previous inspection experience. Demonstrated computer skills areas of LM tools including SAP, Apriso, Command Media, PAL and Windchill. Navigating SAP/Apriso in areas concerning confirmations, reviewing characteristics, and Nonconformances. Technical writing for documenting issues on rejection paperwork. Knowledge of ISO 9000/AS9100.
