Central Service Technician IIFull Time: FTE 1.03:00pm-11:30pmBettendorf, IA$5,000 Sign-On Bonus!Under the general supervision of the Central Sterilization Manager, Responsible for decontamination, disinfection, inspection, assembly and sterilization of reusable medical supplies, instruments and equipment dispensed by the department.ReceivingEnsure safe handling of items through decontamination process according to policy and procedureEnsure vendor compliance for delivery and packaging of equipment/instrumentation Processing all equipment/instrumentation from all campuses, and offsite ancillary departmentsHandlingEnsure compliance with all regulatory protocols for decontamination of instrumentationEnsure all safety measures taken with regard to policy and procedureDisassemble items for cleaning and sterilizing; reassembling cleaned and sterilized itemsComplete tray assembly inclusive of inventory, inspection, assembly and containmentComplete sterilization process according to policy and procedureDistributionTransport completed instrumentation to defined storage locations within the operating roomComplete handoff to ancillary departments Ensure vendor compliance for instrument handling, pick up and inventory controlBasic UPH Performance Criteria Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatoryRequired:High school graduate or equivalentPreferred:1 year prior experience in Central Services/Central SupplyCertified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification to be obtained within 1 year of start dateKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.Multicultural sensitivityMicrosoft office-basic computer skill.Customer/patient focused.Critical thinking skills using independent judgement in making decisions.Why UnityPoint Health?Commitment to our Team - For the third consecutive year, we're proud to be recognized as a Top 150 Place to Work in Healthcare by Becker's Healthcare for our commitment to our team members.Culture - At UnityPoint Health, you matter.
