The Controller is responsible for managing and supervising all accounting functions. Areas of responsibility include payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost and financial reporting, accounting, plant and property accounting, general ledger accounting and ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of District’s financial information and compliance with all applicable administrative, accounting and financial standards. The position is mandated by the Metropolitan Act, Section 80, and signs all bonds issued by the District.Schedule:To view the full job description click here: ControllerEMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and fourteen years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which four years must have been in a management or supervisory position; or an advanced degree from an accredited college or university and twelve years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which four years must have been in a management or supervisory position.Increasingly Responsible Relevant Experience is defined as: Management/supervisory methods and techniques; budgetary concepts and procedures; government and enterprise accounting policies, regulations, laws and procedures; relevant policies, practices and procedures needed to support and manage accounting functions in a large, complex, automated organization; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for governments and/or utilities; Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
