Medical Clerk -Stony Brook Internists, UFPCLocation: East Setauket, NYSchedule: Full TimeDays/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM - 5 PMPay: $18.98 - $23.72Our compensation philosophy aims to provide marketable compensation programs and to compensate employees based on relevant experience and education. Human Resources determines the external and internal equitable salary for each employee.SUMMARY: The Medical Clerk requires the incumbent to provide administrative support to the Office Manager. The medical clerk is responsible for the maintenance and organization of patient charts.Job Duties & Essential Functions:File documents upon receipt.Scan and fax documents.Retrieve documents form the Electronic Medical Records, (EMR).Validate data for PQRS reporting. Answer and direct phone calls, document in EMR message center when requiredPerform all other duties as assigned by management.Required Education & Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED.6 Months of clerical experience.Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word. Must have excellent expressive and written communication skills.Must be highly organized.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.Preferred Qualifications:EMR experience preferred.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers.The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day.
