This undergraduate student will work in Dr. Yildirim lab. The Yildirim lab investigates brain complexity through the lenses of engineering, optics, photonics, behavioral and computational neuroscience to solve basic and translational neuroscience problems. We are creating cutting-edge, custom-made microscopes and computational techniques to perform large-scale fluorescent and label-free imaging, as well as perturbations of neural circuits that result in complex behavior in vivo and in vitro. We are developing diagnostic and therapeutic platforms for a variety of neurological disorders by developing these novel custom-made technologies. A caregiver in this position works 11:00am-3:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Conduct research in the laboratories and/or clinical setting Perform data collection and analysis. Participate actively in a structured learning experience in the laboratory or clinical research setting. Gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques, clinical settings, data collection and analysis and/or other related skills to explore careers in biomedical and/or clinical research. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be accepted/enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student. This position is NOT applicable to anyone who has completed all requirements for an undergraduate degree/diploma. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Students with previous research laboratory experience.
