You will be the subject matter expert for future state applications, applying product related technical requirements to drive technology insertion into the design, development and testing. In essence be the lead providing focus on shaping product requirements applying technology to differentiate and develop a path to production and certification for their technical activities. The position is working onsite at our Chula Vista or Riverside CA facility Relocation assistance is available The Challenge This role is designed for a strategic thinker and relationship builder. Success in this role requires execution of our internal technology development plans with demonstrated maturity to enable technology insertion for the relevant product applications and execute product development programs. The challenge is significant to drive impactful advancements in aviation product development. What You Will Do Governing projects to lead integration for new design solutions, processes and materials into complex aerostructures. Drive the technology transition process to ensure robust and demonstrated technology insertion for their product. Proposing and executing sub-element process demonstrations and testing will be expected. Interacting between and often coordinating Engineering groups (design, stress, certification, M&P, R&T, test labs, and customers). Supports the coordination and integration of all engineering activity associated to budget, schedule, and developing new concepts including technology enablers TRL5+, as well as the conformity of the engineering to specifications, regulatory and contractual requirements. Provides guidance and coordination with internal customers and other departments. Is proactive, and not passive to their team's decision making, direction of progress and extent of progress. Provides component technical coordination with marketing and potential customers for all proposal activities. Make best use of CORE tools and provides continuous improvement leadership in developing and using standardized component engineering processes, lessons learned, tools and templates for new product introduction, enhancing component commonality and re-use. Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit Perform other duties as required What You Will Need Operates with a knowledge and experiences with nacelle structures, and flight control surfaces product related technical requirements to drive the design, development, and testing criteria in coordination with regulatory agencies to ensure Certification requirements are achieved. Generates and leads Technology Transition Plans governing Total Technology Readiness Levels (TTRLs). Has a pathway to satisfy all technical requirements within budget and schedule constraints and/or provide viable options to challenge new requirements. Ability to effect necessary progress in all technical disciplines - in particular: Structural Design / Weights Structural Analysis / Aero/Thermo Technical Communication Ability to communicate verbally, in writing and by presentations to both technical and non-technical personnel. Ability to lay out an Analysis plan in detail such that the management of the plan will provide visibility to indicate when corrective measures are needed. The salary range for this role is 130,000 USD - 272,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
