Description Our client is actively seeking an exceptional Director of Accounts Receivable (AR) with a keen attention to detail and a knack for leadership. In this pivotal role, you'll take charge of the Accounts Receivable operations, while providing key support to the Senior Director of Accounting in both performing and overseeing a variety of critical general accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations and GL maintenance. You'll also have the rewarding opportunity to supervise and mentor a Staff Accountant, fostering their development within these key areas. This position promotes collaboration, requiring you to partner closely with our dedicated Finance team to gain a deep understanding of budget and funding needs for our valued funders. In keeping with our belief in continuous growth and knowledge sharing, you'll also have the chance to cooperate with the Director of Accounts Payable, with potential cross-training opportunities to expand your skills and expertise. Responsibilities: Oversee the processing of customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency Collaborate with the Finance team to assess means of payment once a new contract or grant is received Ensure that funds requested map to budgets and conform to the requirements of each contract Develop and maintain a schedule of invoices by due date and the personnel responsible for input or generation Maintain schedules and generate reports to communicate status, such as receivables ageing report, tracking of government drawdowns, and schedule for unbilled revenue Follow up with funders if payments fall behind schedule Assist in the annual financial and 403B audits Become an advanced user of database programs such as Salesforce and accounting systems like Abila MIP Requirements The ideal Director of Accounts Receivable candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. Other requirements for the Director of Accounts Receivable position include and are not limited to: 5+ years combined of professional experience in accounting roles and processes. 2+ years' work experience in a supervisory role (can be within the above experience). Non-profit experience preferred.
