Description We are seeking a Front Desk Coordinator to join our team in the non-profit sector, based in Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves ensuring smooth operations within an art gallery context. You will be responsible for customer service, maintaining the gallery, and assisting with various tasks as needed. This is a very part time opening, looking at coverage on the weekends. Responsibilities Oversee the front desk operations ensuring efficient customer service Utilize the POS system for various transactions Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the gallery Support weekend coverage of the gallery in line with the established rotation Handle walk-in customers, providing information and assistance as needed Assist in the planning and execution of events and social media activities Collaborate with the team to facilitate art exhibitions Handle various tasks as required, ensuring smooth gallery operations. Requirements Prior experience in a customer service role, preferably within a non-profit organization. Ability to effectively assist customers and address their needs in a prompt and courteous manner. Experience in a retail environment, with knowledge of cash handling and point of sale systems. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people. Familiarity with art exhibitions, with an interest in art and culture being a plus. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and email. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently. High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public. Flexibility to work during weekends, holidays, and after regular office hours when required. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong organizational skills, with an eye for detail. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure. Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and processes.
