We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Billing Specialist to join their finance team. Responsibilities:Sets up new billable and business development cases and matters in our accounting software.Creates nonbillable accounts upon request from various departments in the firmMaintains master files, including case data (entering special bill rates, and disbursement overrides) in compliance with client billing and e-billing guidelines. Works with Legal to clarify case setup and bill submission instructions, if case information is not submitted at the time of new case set upsProcesses changes to case master files, including billing contacts and billing processing notesMaintains master file integrity by reviewing data quality check reports and requesting new reports when further data fields are required for billing or reporting purposesSets up and maintains timekeeper bill rates across the standard, multicurrency, and special rate levels under the guidance of client accounting management.Sets up new outside Expert timekeeper numbers in our accounting and new matter software.Participates in the semi-annual update of bill rates for timekeepers and clients, including communications with officers and end clients, determining special rate setup changes, and providing timekeeper rates as requested.Assists Executive Assistants with specific billing procedures where they do not have permissions.Processes all requested time changes.Coordinates information requests for audits and/or special projects from Legal and Practice Development.Provides basic case time and billing reports, copies of invoices upon request.Ensures all billable matters have Expert Attribution assignments. Works with Expert Development to implement required changes using the Assignment tool, per their advisements. Work with Expert Attribution team to make changes as they request during the twice annual Attribution review process.Participates in streamlining and new procedure implementations with testing processes Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plusMinimum of 3 years of billing experience, preferably in the Professional Services industry.Experience with Aderant is a huge plusStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
