Overview Position Overview: In this role you will be working in the Platform team, which is dedicated to building a robust and scalable platform that empowers our developers, customers and partners to create innovative healthcare solutions to transform healthcare. Our mission is to excel in four key areas: Integration Architecture, ensuring seamless and secure integrations between diverse systems; Developer Experience, providing tools and environments that increase developer productivity and creativity; API Platform, offering a versatile and reliable gateway for data exchange; and Platform Services, maintaining a suite of domain-driven services that drive the performance and reliability of our applications. The successful candidate will leverage their development skills to maintain and enhance our services in the four key areas above, utilizing the latest frameworks and engineering best practices to enhance our existing team. This is largely a backend role with some frontend knowledge (80-90% backend, 10-20% frontend) with a development stack of Java/Spring, Ruby on Rails, React, and Postgres in a Google Cloud environment About Wellframe: With Wellframe , we reimagine healthcare relationships through a new approach that uses high-tech to deliver the high-touch support people need, when and where they need it. Your Impact: Translate user stories into software solutions Collaborate with engineering manager and technical lead to provide good project estimates for on time delivery of projects Validate technical design with other engineers Communicate technical decisions effectively with relevant stakeholders Maintain a high standard for code quality for yourself and others on the team, including automated testing Take technical ownership in areas of a project where applicable, contributing to technical design, development, testing and on time delivery with high quality Debug and fix challenging production issues Participate in on-call rotation to ensure exemplary uptime and reliability Work with customer support to triage, diagnose, and resolve bugs Identify and lead process and technology improvements Identify process, tooling and feature improvements to improve product quality and engineering productivity Contribute to the team's roadmap for implementing technical and process improvements Mentor software engineers and interns to guide their technical growth What You Bring: BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring or Ruby on Rails with a microservices architecture is required At least 5 years of backend development experience and 1 year of frontend experience At least 3 years experience building SaaS or cloud-based commercial software products At least 3 years experience with Java is preferred Excellent communicator, comfortable explaining technical problems and plans in person and in writing to both a technical and a non technical audience Track record of leadership of design and implementation for medium sized projects, including microservices, database and some frontend Experience withrelational databases (e.g. Postgres) is required Functional experience with ReactJS and/or other JavaScript frameworks is preferred Accepts feedback graciously Strives not to commit the same mistake twice Stays up-to-date on industry best practices and new technologies Promotes quality through automated testing and other measures Strong sense of ownership Thrives on diverse technical challenges Passionate about leveraging their technical skills to help improve patient care Works effectively in a fast-paced, agile startup environment HealthEdge commits to building an environment and culture that supports the diverse representation of our teams.
