Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant based in Hayward, California. This role involves meticulous financial tasks, including account reconciliation, handling accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining financial records. The Staff Accountant will be part of a team that works in a fast-paced environment, and will be responsible for ensuring all accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time. Responsibilities: Review, prepare, and process invoices for payment, ensuring all necessary documentation is present. Efficiently handle accounts payable and receivable, including the collection on past due accounts. Conduct regular bank reconciliations and maintain an accurate general ledger. Maintain and update customer information in QuickBooks. Assist in the month-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries. Conduct thorough audits of credit card bills and process check runs. Respond to vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements. Manage petty cash account and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately. Prioritize invoices based on cash discount potential and payment terms. Maintain thorough and accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger management Capable of creating and managing Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in NetSuite and Oracle financial software Familiarity with QuickBooks and SAP Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment High attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong problem-solving skills Knowledge of applicable financial laws and regulations.
