Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Provide radiation therapy services by applying ionizing radiation to adult and geriatric patients according to approved prescriptions. Schedule: 40 hours weekly, 8:00am-4:30am Apply ionizing radiation to patients according to physician prescription, noting any changes to prescription during course of Rx. Review and maintain daily treatment records for accuracy and completeness. Assesses patient condition from medical documentation and observe patients for unusual reaction resulting from treatment. Explain treatment procedures to patients in a sensitive manner. Participate in simulation and mold room procedures. Solve problems that arise with routine set-ups. Schedule patient appointments. Understand dosimetry procedures and perform basic treatment time calculations. Participate in radiation oncology quality assessment and improvement activities. Prepare room and equipment for patients according to prescriptions regarding immobilization devices and treatment parameters. Monitor equipment for established parameter tolerances. Assess complexity of procedures for billing purposes. Maintain and summarize patient monthly statistics. Perform other related duties as assigned.
