TORAGE MECHANIC JOB SUMMARY: Basic Function This position will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks associated with the safe operation of various components and equipment associated with our high-pressure natural gas Storage and Transmission assets. This role will work in a team environment as well as have individual assignments. This role will be required to certify after a designated training period and will become enrolled into the union after 30 days. Starting Hourly Salary: $30.49 SOME BASIC TASKS SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Operate facilities in a safe and efficient manner to meet production/throughput requirements, including starting and stopping of reciprocating and centrifugal engines and compressors. Repair liquid centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps. Properly, legibly and accurately record all equipment and operational data as required. Inspect, repair, adjust and reset pressure regulators, relief valves, level controllers and shutdown devices on rotating equipment as needed. Routinely inspect, operate and grease pumps, valves, motors and bearings as needed. Repair or replacement of electric motors, shafts, and bearings in overhead cooler fans and in pumps. Assist in the repair of equipment such as regulators, valves, pumps, gauges, filters, cooler fans, air compressors, air dryers, gas compressors, etc. as determined by physical inspections or scheduled preventative maintenance. Comply with Company, State, and Federal safety and environmental regulations. Perform welding and cutting work or any other work necessary in the maintenance of equipment and facilities. Perform pipe fitting, plumbing, ditching work necessary in the installation or repairs of pipelines. Replace filter elements as required. Operate and maintain valves and valve operators of various types and sizes throughout plant. Accept changes in work schedule, available for shift work, subject to call-outs as required for operations, including short notice/no notice overtime and extended shift coverage. This includes working alone at times or in a team setting. Performs various duties to maintain the Company's buildings, facilities, equipment, and rights-of-way, for neat and orderly appearances. (Examples include mowing, weed-trimming, cleaning compressors & building, cleaning & routine service of vehicles and lawn equipment, janitorial maintenance of office). Safely and effectively work to accomplish assigned tasks in a timely manner, including the operation of forklifts, aerial platforms, etc Perform asset inspections, including painting and applying protective coatings. Obtain and document surface wellhead pressures and flows as assigned. Change surface equipment pressure and flow recording charts as assigned. Place surface wellhead equipment online or offline. Conduct Transmission City Gate Regulating Station inspections, including changing pressure and flow recording charts as assigned. Recognize AOC's (Abnormal Operating Conditions) and take appropriate actions. Other duties as assigned. Position Title: Mechanic, Storage - Mendota IL Job Category: Operations Minimum Education Required: High School/GED City: Mendota Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities: QUALIFICATIONS Education, Certifications/Licenses: Required: High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with good driving record and ability to obtain a CDL within probationary period prior to final certification, including passing Company driving tests. Preferred: Technical degree or certification with operations or equivalent work experience in technical trades such as welding, machinist, equipment mechanic or engineering. Related Work Experience: Required: Previous experience with mechanical systems and operations. Preferred: Previous experience with oil and gas operations, petrochemical operations, or technical process operations. Applicant may possess a combination of equivalent education and work experience Specific Skills & Knowledge: Required: Must be able to read, write and interpret written materials, including understanding drawings, blueprints, charts, etc. Must be able to effectively communicate and interpret information in both verbal and written formats. Must be able to utilize computers for accomplishing work tasks. Must be able to pass classification certification testing and Operator Qualification written and demonstrative tasks. Preferred: Fork lift experience. Aerial platform experience. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Must be able to work at elevated heights. Must be physically able to walk for extended periods, stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders and lift up to 100 pounds. Must be able to utilize hand tools, shovels, brooms, etc Must have a keen sense of smell, hearing, vision and color identification. Ability to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions is required. Will be required to wear Fire Retardant Clothing and Personnel Protective Equipment. This position is required to work for extended periods of time in varied weather conditions. Required to work periodically away from assigned location. State: Illinois
