Job Title: Production Associate & Material Handler Job Description The employee in general fabrication will assist with material handling and material moving around the facility. After nut cert and punch out do their work, the material has to get to the assemblers. This person will help with that by stacking parts on a cart, palletizing parts, and grabbing parts for the assemblers. They may also be asked to do the traditional job that general fabrication does, which includes nut cert and punch out. Punch Out is the very first part of the entire assembly line. Sheet metal that is about 12ft by 8ft will come off a laser cutting machine and be stacked on a table for the punch-out person to work on. The sheet metal will have outlines cut into it and the associate will 'punch out' the metal parts and stack them in the correct piles to take to the Nut Cert. Picture disassembling a very large puzzle. That's it...they'll be standing in one spot doing the same job over and over again for 10 hours/day. Nut Cert will receive the parts from Punch Out and use their CPU screen to identify where nuts and bolts need to be inserted. They'll have their workbench and one by one make the drill holes, insert nuts, and then place the finished part on a pallet for material handlers to take over to the assembly area. That's it. They'll be in one spot, standing, and doing this job over and over again for 10 hours/day. The goal is to rotate folks between Nut Cert and Punch Out, but that can't be guaranteed based on training and business needs.
