The Director of the Vira Heinz Program is the person who serves as the principal investigator and administrator of a grant from the Heinz Endowments. This grant provides study abroad scholarships to 45 women from 15 Pennsylvania institutions. The scholarship program, funded by the Heinz Endowments, gives funding to 15 university in the State of Pennsylvania to fund studying abroad for three women from each of the 15 institutions. This position requires someone who has extensive experience in grant and data reporting, marketing, budgeting, financial management, developing academic curriculum, advising, and an understanding and appreciation for diverse populations of students. This person must be comfortable working with and communicating with faculty, administration, staff and students at the 15 VIH- participating institutions. Must have excellent verbal and writing skills and be able to present nationally and internationally to university colleagues and peers. This position's primary duties include: Direct and oversee all multidimensional administrative responsibilities across 15 VIH academic institutions, 15 VIH campus coordinators and an annual cohort of 45 students per year located throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Independently write, analyze and submit annual stewardship grant reports, VIH report update sheets, student experience reports, and student community engagement experience reports. Communicate directly with and implement standards of the funder, the Heinz Endowments. Work directly and independently to raise the profile of the VIH Program through international education organizations, professional networks and international and national conferences. Communicate directly with Presidents, IA staff, faculty and high-level administrators at all VIH institutions. Additional duties include: marketing and outreach of the program, all budgeting and financial management responsibilities, training for campus coordinators, program design and facilitation, community engagement, and student advising. Job Summary Oversees planning and execution of one or more programs and defines program scope, goals, and strategic objectives. Designs programs that satisfy the University's mission and diverse populations. Performs budgetary functions and approves program budgets, maintains accurate records of program progress, and conducts administrative tasks. Represents the organization and ensures all activities comply with University policies and legal guidelines. Essential Functions Oversees planning and execution of one or more programs; defines program scope, goals, and strategic objectives. Investigates the organization's target population and design programs that satisfies their mission and needs. Drafts, manages, and approves program budgets. Establishes key performance metrics and maintains accurate records on program progress. Provides detailed reports to senior management. Ensures all activities and operations comply with University policies and legal guidelines. Represents the organization in meetings with donors, advocates, the media, or members of the community. Conducts other administrative tasks such as leading meetings and drafting communications. Physical Effort Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
