About the RoleAssistant Estimator Description/Job SummaryThe Assistant Estimator is responsible for coordination of quantity takes offs, subcontractor qualifications, and research in support of the Estimators and Business Expansion Manager. Responsibilities/Duties• Ensure that the estimating process runs smoothly and efficiently. • Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs and expectations. • Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects. • Effectively facilitates collaboration amongst team members. • Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a value for the work. • Understand the full scope of the project through document review and asking questions of the design team and owner. • Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate. • Manage Subcontractor solicitation & selection process (as required). • Ensure quality control of bids and estimates. What You'll BringEducational BackgroundDegree in construction management, architecture, engineer or other related major preferred. Equivalent experience is also welcome.Minimum Years and Type Of Experience1+ years of construction experience (preferred)Necessary Knowledge And SkillsSuperior interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to problem solve, effectively prioritize, and drive processesAbility to work in a fast paced, multi-phase project environment with shifting prioritiesAbility to identify and implement more efficient practicesAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamAbility to read architectural/engineering drawings and specificationsWhat We OfferCompetitive pay, negotiable and based on experience.
