Description Can you:Be flexible, adaptable and effectively cope with changeClearly represent all information so that even bad news can be handled with expediency and transparencyKeep your composure under pressure and encourage collaboration in the face of conflictSelf-motivate to learn, investigate and understandCommit to doing what the job requires to be done rightAs a MATT PE Intern you will gain:General knowledge of construction means and methodsGeneral knowledge of estimatingBasic understanding of accounting and cost control proceduresAbility to read plans, drawings and specificationsAbility to learn to write accurate and thought-out scopes for bid docs, and analyze bids from subsA basic understanding of how to process shop drawings, RFIs and submittalsUnderstanding of Excel, Bluebeam, BIM/Revit, P6 and ProcoreSolid verbal and written communication skillsTeamwork and interpersonal skillsYour key responsibilities will include:Establishing and building relationships with your project team including MATT management, clients/owners, owner's reps, architects and subcontractorsManaging subcontractor qualifying, procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, punch lists and close outLearning how to identify scope gapsLearning how to manage the quality control needed on a projectWorking collaboratively and proactively with the project superintendent to ensure project safetyLearning how to execute 3-week look-ahead schedulesCollaborating with Interns from other schools and majors Requirements A path to obtain a bachelor's degree, preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering or other applicable fieldPrior internships in Commercial or Residential construction desiredExperience with fast-paced schedules and effective time-management skillsMATT Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
