Kamatics, a division of Kaman, has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Accounting Analyst located in Bloomfield, CT. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Associate Accounting Analyst works under their general direction and is responsible for performing a variety of accounting activities related to general accounting, general ledger, special projects and/or government accounting. Follows standard procedures, processes and schedules as established by the Accounting process owner. Maintains a continuous improvement and learning mindset.Prepares monthly journal entries, reconciles various general ledger accounts and analyzes accounting transactions to ensure proper classification.Books sales and profit in accordance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.Processes and reconciles cash receipts from lockbox deposits, ACH, and wire transfers to the ledgerResearches and resolves issues such as short payments, overpayments, and payments without remittance instructionsSupports cash distribution processesResponsible for the collection of accounts receivable balances, works with management to analyze new and existing customer credit history and recommends terms or changes in termsMay work with external auditors and company staff to troubleshoot issues/concerns and identify resolutions.Works collaboratively with other functional groups within the business to gather or provide information and address questions/problems.Is supportive of and participates in continuous improvement projects; takes advantage of tools and programs that will increase the accuracy and efficiency of accounting practices.May work on special projects or assignments from other company businesses as assigned.1+ year of experience, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace.Understanding of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with revenue recognition regulationsBasic credit and collections knowledgeIntermediate data entry skills neededProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (e.g. V-Look Up and Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.Possesses and maintains good organizational skills and detail orientation.Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners. Good verbal and written communications skills needed.Ability to use good judgement and discretion; able to ask questions and raise issues/concerns constructively and in a timely manner. Working knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and cost accounting standards (CAS), preferred#KAM#LI-AF1
