LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a Payroll Specialist for a contract opportunity in Sacramento, California. In this role you will assist in managing and processing employee payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records. Your expertise will help ensure timely and accurate compensation for our employees, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our payroll operations.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPayroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll functions, including the preparation, processing, and distribution of employee paychecks and direct deposits on a bi-weekly/monthly pliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholding, garnishments, and reporting requirements.Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, including changes to salary, benefits, and deductions. Verify and input timekeeping data, and address any discrepancies.Reporting: Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including earnings statements, tax reports, and benefits deductions. Generate reports for internal and external audits as needed.Customer Service: Provide excellent support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries, including resolving issues related to paychecks, deductions, and tax withholdings.System Maintenance: Utilize payroll software and systems to manage payroll functions. Implement system updates and troubleshoot issues as necessary.Collaboration: Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and address any payroll-related concerns or discrepancies.Record-Keeping: Maintain and update payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Ensure records are securely stored and easily accessible.DESIRED SKILLS & BACKGROUNDEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and administration. Experience with payroll software and systems is required.Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws. Familiarity with Sacramento and California-specific payroll requirements is a plus.Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and payroll munication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with anization: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.Work Environment: Our office is located Sacramento, offering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
