This role involves disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling production equipment and verifying that it operates according to required specifications. The technician must adhere to strict safety and quality standards to support smooth transitions between production runs.Key Responsibilities:Changeover Execution: Perform equipment changeovers on production lines as per the production schedule, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).Machine Setup: Set up and adjust machinery and equipment for different production runs, including adjusting settings, changing parts, and ensuring optimal performance.Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment during and after changeovers to ensure it is in good working order for the next production run.Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during changeovers, collaborating with maintenance teams as necessary to minimize disruptions.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of changeovers, machine settings, and any issues encountered during the process.Quality Control: Verify that machinery is operating within the specified parameters and that the first run of a new production batch meets quality standards.Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures during changeovers to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of changeover processes by suggesting and implementing efficiency-enhancing modifications.Toolroom support as required: preparation for upcoming jobs; disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble compression molding toolsWorking within technical group to complete quarterly and annual machine overhaulsParticipate in daily team meetingsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.Experience: 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in machine setup, changeovers, and maintenance.Technical Skills:Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring devices.Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues.Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring machinery is set up correctly and operating within specified parameters.Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and document processes.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
