The Prep Cook is responsible for meal prep duties including the preparation of ingredients, side dishes and sauces. The ideal candidate for this position works well under pressure and is dedicated to excellence.ResponsibilitiesExecute daily food preparation tasks as assigned by the head chef and Sous ChefManage inventory of kitchen ingredients and stock items as necessaryCommunicate progress and needs with kitchen staffMeasure ingredients and follow recipes to make sauces, dressings, entrees, and side dishesWash and prepare food ingredients according to health department standardsMaintain a sanitary and organized work environmentProperly label food items and store in the designated areaOther duties may be assigned by managementQualificationsMinimum of 3 years related experience in culinary arts, or equivalent combination of education and experienceProper food safety training and knowledge of sanitation guidelinesFollow orders and work in a fast-paced environmentMultitask and prioritize responsibilitiesKnowledge of how to properly use kitchen tools such as knives, blenders, oven, and gas rangeStrong verbal and written communication in EnglishStrong desire to work as a team playerEducationHigh School diploma preferredSpecialty/Technical training preferredSkills/Abilities/Personal CharacteristicsKnowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchenKnowledge of basic cooking techniquesOrganizational skills.PatienceManual dexterityCommunication skillsAttention to detailAbility to work under pressureWorking ConditionsDays and hours of work vary by schedule and business needsEvening, weekend, and holiday work will be requiredWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull.
