It is through their efforts and talents that Titan has been successful for over 100 years.Titan America is currently seeking an experienced Truck Mechanic to work in its Sterling, VA facility and surrounding areas. This is an hourly position reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform maintenance and repair of various types of mobile equipment in the company shop or on public roadways, as necessary and maximize equipment availability through the use of efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs.Responsibilities:Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repair of Mixer Trucks, Loaders, and other heavy equipmentPerform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, computer diagnostics and basic weldingAnalyze blueprints, drawings, work orders and diagrams in order to troubleshoot, repair and install equipmentPerform daily preventative maintenance inspections, repairs, and schedulingPerform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI); troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment; ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/or replacement of componentsUtilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairsComplete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair timesWork under limited supervision using written or verbal instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasksIdentify multiple projects and prioritize work to maximize truck utilization and plant productivityCommunicate clearly and effectively at various levels to obtain and provide information needed to accomplish goalsMaximize equipment availability through the use of efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programsRequired Experience: 1-2 years related experience and/or training in automotive or commercial vehicle repairProficiency in diagnosing and repair of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, and computer diagnosticsPrevious experience doing preventative maintenance inspections and schedulingKnowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repair, certification preferredStrong mechanical skills and the ability to problem solve, E7 or MP7 engine experience preferredReady-mix industry knowledge or related industry a plusCDL preferred or ability to obtain a CDL licenseDedication to maintain the highest standard of safety in all aspects of the jobMust provide own toolsHigh school diploma or equivalentWorking EnvironmentDisplay a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all timesWillingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as requiredWorking outdoors with exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold and other outdoor environmental conditions, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights and lifting up to 75 lbs.Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and overtimeAbility to pass pre-employment processes including criminal background check, physical and drug screenTravel between local sites as needed, travel as much as 100% of the time Titan America LLC offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life, matching 401K, paid vacation and holidays).Titan America is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) / Affirmative Action employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
