The Patient Services Coordinator is an expert in all administrative aspects related to high-quality, efficient patient care. Specific responsibilities include:Answering and appropriately documenting and triaging all patient calls;Returning appropriate calls on behalf of physician;Scheduling patient appointments and completing a full patient registration when appropriate;Managing physician clinical, research and administrative schedules;Assisting with urgent patient issues as directed by the physician;Managing physician /patient correspondence through the hospital’s electronic medical record;Providing administrative support for physician dictation activity;Compiling physician expense reports and reimbursement requests and tracking physician spending;Maintaining inventory of office supplies and ordering supplies as needed;Providing back-up to other roles in the department as needed;Additional administrative responsibilities as directed by the physician, the supervisor or department leadership.Competencies/skills:Superior written and oral communication skillsExceptional customer service and interpersonal skillsProven track record of building and maintaining productive working relationships with physiciansAbility to work collaboratively as part of a team; offers to help coworkers when neededDetail oriented with ability to multi-taskStrong critical thinking and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership over one’s workAptitude for problem-solvingConsistently displays a positive attitude towards one’s work and work environmentConsistently displays professional appearanceExperience with Epic preferred; strong computer skills requiredIn-depth understanding of medical office workflows, systems and processesKnowledge of healthcare and health insurance, preferredFamiliarity with medical terminology, preferredBachelor’s degree preferred, associate’s degree required.
