JOB SUMMARYRiverdale YM-YWHA seeks an engaging and strategic leader to become its Chief Program Officer (CPO). The CPO oversees program development, staff oversight, compliance with New York State and New York City licensing standards, as well as supervision of the programs in accordance with the policies and vision of the organization. The CPO must have an authentic passion for a mission-driven business with proven success in program management. The CPO is a part of the organization's executive team. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESLead department heads and directors in achieving delivery of high quality programs.Lead the creation and development of new and existing programs across departments.Work with staff to develop revenue growth opportunities.Ensure a high level of member and customer service across all programs.Supervise and mentor team to achieve customer satisfaction and communication with program users and members.Support direct reports to create written program plans and communication strategy to members and participants.Ensure all programs are adequately staffed to maintain excellence in quality and delivery.Collaborate with the marketing team in promoting varied programs offered under your supervision.Oversee the annual budget of responsible departments to ensure fiscal goals are met.Ensure compliance with local and state regulations in early childhood education, camp, after school and all related educational programming.Collaboratively work with the leadership team to ensure proper investments are made in programs that align with the mission and strategic goals.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThe following departments report directly to the Chief Program Officer: Early Childhood Center, Family & Youth, Summer Day Camp, Older Adult Center and offsite Older Adult programming, Volunteer Services, Sunday Farmers market, Community Engagement and other programs as assigned.Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement with a commitment to quality.Provide guidance and support to all department directors, staff and volunteers through leadership, coaching and positive role modeling.Hire and oversee training and supervision of programmatic staff.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Be responsive to program user needs and concerns working closely with the member experience team for timely response and troubleshooting as neededCommunicate on a regular basis with and support the guidance and direction of the CEOAttend staff meetings and board meetings.Assist with special projects and community events as needed.Direct the activities of the agency in the CEO's absence. Minimum Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSB.S. or B.A. plus 7-10 years' experience in a leadership role related to program planning, development, implementation and evaluationPrior experience in managing large teams.Critical thinking and analytical skills.Master's degree preferred.Demonstrated effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions is an asset.Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and PENSATIONAnnual salary range will be based on experience and qualifications: $110,000 - $125,000 including the following benefits:Complimentary individual and family membership to fitness centerDiscounts on JCC programs including summer camps, after school, preschool, private training Medical, dental and vision health insurancePensionGenerous time-off This is a full-time position with flexibility to work Monday through Friday or a Sunday through Thursday schedule with occasional evenings and weekend work.
