Peace Officers will conduct foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior). Additional duties include control access and egress; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconductSpecial Patrolmen are appointed in connection with special duties of employment, and such designation confers limited Peace Officer powers upon the employee pursuant to New York State Criminal Procedure Law § 2.10(27). The exercise of these powers is limited to the employee's geographical area of employment and only while such employee is actually on dutyPay Rate - $31.00 / hourSign on Bonus - $2,500 after 30 days of employment RESPONSIBILITIES:Display exceptional customer service and communication skillsAbility to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficientlyUnder supervision, the Special Officer will provide physical security, safety and maintenance of order in accordance with agency procedures.Screens employees and visitorsOperates and monitors security equipment; reports equipment needing maintenance or repairPatrols designated areas of assigned locations to maintain order, preserve the peace and safeguard life and property against fire, vandalism and theft.Issuing of summonses.Controlling crowds and maintaining order in governmental or public buildings.Only when directed; arrests and issues summons to law violators on premisesTransports/escorts and/or arranges transport of persons in custody to police precinct and has arrest recorded on Police Blotter.Prepares and transmits all appropriate documentation relating to arrest.Testifies in court and other tribunals.QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):Posess a current NYC Special Patrolman License under Chapter 13: Special Patrolmen - Peace Officer CertificateCandidates should exhibit a strong interest in criminal law and public serviceA high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization; and Individuals serving in this title are designated as Peace Officers by the New York State Criminal Procedure LawAll candidates must be qualified to serve as Peace OfficersMust satisfy the training requirements established by the State of New York for Peace Officers and obtain certificationOnce obtained, this certification must be maintained for the duration of employmentExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, and OutlookAbilities to resolve conflicts and multitaskAbility to attend, complete and maintain State and agency training requirementsA four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization; andIndividuals serving in this title are designated as Peace Officers by the New York City Criminal Procedure LawAll candidates must be qualified to serve as Peace OfficersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat ZoneGraduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter fieldBachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studiesA minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branchAssociate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military serviceBENEFITS:Health insurance and 401k plans for full-time positions Schedules that fit with your personal life goalsOngoing paid training programs and career growth opportunitiesEmployee discounts through our perks program to your favorite restaurants, entertainment venues and much more Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
