The Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine seeks a Research Analyst to support the Health Dashboard Initiative (HDI). The analyst will support a group of national interactive websites that provide health and health-related metrics calculated to specific local geographies, including the City Health Dashboard (and the Congressional District Health Dashboard (This analyst will work with a team of analysts who analyze data at the federal, congressional district, county, city, census tract, and census block levels; aggregate geographic data; and calculate robust health metrics that align with administrative boundaries. The analyst will also be responsible for supporting the teams project management efforts, including updating and maintaining project management tracking via project management software, monitoring invoices and payments, and other project management responsibilities as assigned.We are a dynamic and diverse team that values collaboration, growth, and passion for public health. We believe that high-performing teams include people from different backgrounds, and we actively seek a diverse pool of applicants, including those from historically marginalized groups.Job Responsibilities:Retrieving, analyzing, and evaluating data parsed to various geographic boundaries for use in HDI websites with attention to issues of sample size, bias, and timelinessDocumenting work flows and methodological challenges to generating health metric estimates across numerous geographiesCreating and maintaining project management workflows via project management softwareMonitoring project invoices, contracts, and paymentsPerforming other analytic or project management tasks as assignedMinimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a A bachelors or masters degree in a related field (biostats, epidemiology, public health) Skill and experience in the R statistical programming softwareSkill and experience in project management softwareAttention to detail and willingness to take initiativeCommitment to collaboration and internal customer servicePreferred Qualifications:1-2 years experience in a project management and/or analytics role Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and internal customer serviceSkill and experience in the SQL data programming languageQualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.NYU Grossman School of Medicine provides its staff with far more than just a place to work. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $68,900.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
