Details: --> We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for an Accounting Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Los Alamitos, CA surrounding area.Pay Rate: $25Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Specialist will be responsible for establishing payment terms and collecting payment against those terms according to established standards. He/She will follow the collection procedures established by the organization and will assist with billing and payables as needed.Responsibilities:Collection calls and/or correspondence to solicit payment on overdue accounts and take all necessary actions to collectProvide customer service with updates regarding collection issues, process account adjustments, and resolve account discrepanciesProcesses customer credit applications to determine creditworthinessResponsible for monitoring and maintaining all customer accountsIncludes customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write-offCustomer reconciliation and processing credit customers in a timely mannerAccountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accountsMaintains records of all delinquent accounts, bankruptcies, and credit risksPrepares and files collections paperwork on approved accountsEnlist the efforts of sales, program management, and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection processMust communicate and follow up effectively with sales and customer service departments regarding customer accounts on a timely basisEstablish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and customersPerform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounting Department, including training as an Accounts Payable back-upManage customers on the On Hold, COD, and Cash Advance ListReconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are dueA/R cash receipt postingsBasic Hiring Criteria:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, with an emphasis on AR/Collection and payablesDesired Qualifications:Associate's degree in accounting or a related field is preferredKnowledge of Billing and Collections procedures Accounts Receivable/Collections knowledge and experience is a mustStrong attention to detail, goal-orientedCommitment to excellent customer serviceExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilitiesBenefits offered to vary by the contract.
